What affects the cost of a glass banister?
The system, the glass specification and the shape of your stairwell. A straight flight costs less than one with winders or a half landing, which is why we measure before quoting rather than working to a flat rate per metre.
Can you replace just the spindles on my existing staircase?
Yes, and it is one of the most popular things we do. Glass panels replace timber spindles while the existing strings, treads and newel posts stay in place, so the work is far less disruptive than a full staircase replacement.
What glass options are available?
Clear, frosted and sandblasted glass, with a choice of fixtures, fittings and handrails. Handrails and posts can be colour matched rather than left as standard steel.
Do glass banisters meet Building Regulations?
Yes. We use toughened glass to BS EN 12150, individual panels are a maximum of 1100mm with a 15mm gap between them, and our surveyor checks the barrier heights for your specific stair before anything is manufactured.
